![]() I press F4 on the TXT file, do the edit, save it and press Backspace to get back to the upper level. With PowerDesk, I page down until I get to the CONAN 1 folder, and press ENTER to drill down. I want to go into each folder and edit something in the README.TXT file. Say I have the following folders in the middle of a couple of hundred: I'm not talking about the new feature in v394, but the way it has functioned for a very long time in the first place. It just defaults to the top of the list with no folders selected, meaning you have to work your way back down the list until you reach where that group of folders is shown. When you drill down into a folder and then pop back up, FC actually highlights that folder you were just in. When I first started, the percentages were almost flip-flopped. The number is already in memory, it's just a matter of tweaking how it shows up.Īlready, there are so many things I can do with the recent Free Commander Beta versions that I cannot even come close to doing as efficiently in PowerDesk Pro 5, that I use FC probably 80-90% of the time now. It reminds me of how you can choose to show file sizes in Bytes or display them in KB. Even so, a simple refresh after a file operation should be pretty darn quick I would think. Unless the user actually changes the contents of the folder, there would be no need to recompute it constantly, I don't think. It is a number that has to be computed on the fly for Selected Objects, sure, but it should be very quick to total the space as you enter a folder and simply display that total statically. In this particular instance, it should be very easy to tack on to the status bar, I believe. Such features might be added in the totally new version. If the feature is easy to implement, it's added very quickly, many features I have requested via email or in the forum has ben added already - but some features are not easy to implement (in the current version). ![]() This way I can spend more time doing actual coding.Dreamer wrote:I'm not sure. ZAnd by the way, I’ve implemented a custom crash report dialog. I got it working but it is still not ready for prime time. I’ve also removed great chunks of experimental code, so TotalFinder should be also somewhat lighter.Īlso I’ve spent the whole weekend on implementing dual-panel mode. ![]() I have a more stable version of TotalFinder and solved many remaining display quirks. Software is hard :-/ Good news for the next release Instead of releasing half-baked version and dealing with complaints I’ve decided to postpone 0.7 release. ![]() My original goal was to release 0.7 today, but I simply didn’t make it.
